Opt-Out Management

Respect contact preferences by managing opt-outs properly. Learn how opt-out works and how to view opted-out contacts.

What Opt-Out Means

When someone opts out, they're asking you to stop contacting them. It's their way of saying "please don't text or call me anymore."

Respecting opt-outs isn't just polite—it's the law. Regulations like TCPA require businesses to honor these requests.

When a contact is opted out: - No messages will be sent to them - SalesPartner stops all outreach - The contact stays in your system but is marked as opted out - You can still see their conversation history

How Contacts Opt Out

Contacts can opt out by replying to a text with certain keywords:

  • STOP
  • UNSUBSCRIBE
  • CANCEL
  • QUIT
  • END

When someone sends one of these words, SalesPartner automatically processes the opt-out. No action needed from you.

You'll see the opt-out recorded in the conversation history. The contact is immediately flagged so no further messages go out.

Viewing Opted-Out Contacts

To see all contacts who have opted out:

1. Go to Settings 2. Select Opt-Out Management 3. Browse or search the list

The opt-out list shows: - Contact name and details - When they opted out - The reason (if available)

Use the search bar to find specific contacts by name, email, or phone number.

Opting Contacts Back In

Sometimes people change their mind. A contact can opt back in by:

1. Texting START or YES to your number 2. Contacting your business directly and asking to receive messages again

You can also manually opt a contact back in:

1. Open the contact's settings 2. Go to Opt-Out Settings 3. Click Opt In

Important: Only opt someone back in if they've genuinely requested it. Don't re-add people who opted out just because you want to contact them.

Compliance Notes

Opt-out management helps you stay compliant with messaging laws:

TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) Requires businesses to stop contacting people who ask to be removed. Violations can result in significant fines.

CTIA Guidelines Industry standards for business messaging that include honoring opt-out requests promptly.

Best practices: - Never contact opted-out leads manually - Keep opt-out records for your records - Process opt-outs immediately (SalesPartner does this automatically) - Train your team to respect opt-out status

When in doubt, don't contact someone who's opted out. It's better to lose a potential lead than face legal issues.
