Industry Profile

Choose your industry so SalesPartner understands your business and speaks to leads the right way.

Why Industry Matters

Your industry profile shapes how SalesPartner talks to your leads. Different businesses have different needs—a roofing company talks about square footage and shingle types, while a real estate agent discusses listings and showings.

What your industry affects: - Conversation style — Technical vs casual, consultative vs transactional - Questions asked — Industry-specific qualifying questions - Terminology — Uses the right words your customers expect - Default business hours — Some industries start earlier or work weekends

Setting the right industry means leads get a conversation that feels natural for your business.

Selecting Your Industry

Choose your industry when you first set up your account, or update it anytime in settings.

To set or change your industry: 1. Go to your account settings 2. Find the Industry or Business Type section 3. Select your main industry from the list 4. If subcategories exist, choose your specialty

Main industries vs subcategories: Some industries have subcategories for more specific customization. For example, "Construction & Engineering" includes subcategories like Roofing, Landscaping, Turf Installation, Painting, and more.

If you see subcategories: Pick the one that best matches your specialty. A fence company would choose "Fencing & Gates" under Construction rather than just "Construction & Engineering."

Your choice applies immediately. No need to restart or wait.

What Industry Affects

Your industry selection customizes SalesPartner's behavior in several ways.

Conversation tone: Different industries call for different approaches. Construction tends to be practical and direct. Real estate is more personable. Healthcare focuses on care and trust.

Qualifying questions: Industry-specific questions help identify real leads. A roofing company might ask about roof size and damage type. A real estate agent might ask about buying timeline and pre-approval status.

Technical language: SalesPartner uses vocabulary appropriate to your industry. Roofing conversations might mention "flashing" and "underlayment." Landscaping might discuss "aeration" and "overseeding."

Photo analysis: If leads send photos (like a damaged roof or a yard), SalesPartner understands what it's looking at. A photo of a lawn gets analyzed differently than a photo of a kitchen renovation.

Default hours: Some industries have different standard hours. Construction often starts at 7 AM. Traditional offices might be 9-5. You can always customize your actual hours separately.

Custom Configuration

Beyond industry selection, you can further customize how SalesPartner handles your leads.

What you can customize: - Custom questions — Add your own qualifying questions - Business hours — Override industry defaults with your actual hours - Messaging preferences — Adjust communication style - Service area — Define where you work

Industry + customization: Think of your industry as the foundation. It sets sensible defaults. Your customizations build on top, tailoring the experience to exactly how you work.

Example: You select "Roofing & Roof Repair" as your industry. SalesPartner now knows roofing terminology and asks about roof damage. Then you add a custom question about whether they've filed an insurance claim. Now you're getting industry-appropriate conversations plus the specific information you need.

Changing industries: If your business changes focus, update your industry anytime. Your custom settings stay in place—only the industry defaults change.

Need help choosing? If you're unsure which industry fits best, think about what questions your customers typically ask. Pick the industry whose conversation style matches those questions.
